Install JonDo and JonDoFox for Linux / UNIX
- JonDo is a Java application. Please install a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) first. You may use your prefered package manager and install the package default-jre.
- JonDoFox is a profil for the Mozilla Firefox web browser particularly optimized for anonymous and secure web surfing. You have to install the webbrowser Mozilla Firefox first, if it was not installed. You may use the prefered package manager of your distribution for Firefox install.
Install JonDo and JonDoFox
- Download jondo_linux.tar.bz2 (OpenPGP sig) and jondofox_linux_en.tar.bz2 (OpenPGP sig).
- Unpack the archive with your favorit file manager. Click with there
right mouse button on the file and choose "extract here".
Or on command line, using the command:
> tar -xaf jondo_linux.tar.bz2
> tar -xaf jondofox_linux_en.tar.bz2
Open a terminal, go to the new directory and install JonDo at the command line by running:
> cd jondo_linux
> sudo ./install_jondo.sh
or without root permissions:
> ./install_jondo.sh $HOME
Install JonDoFox by running the install script:
> ./install_linux.sh
Start JonDo and JonDoFox
After installation you will find JonDo in the applications menu of your desktop in the group network
or you can start it at a command line with "jondo".

Downloads for many operating systems you may find at http://www.java.com.
Download the JAR file JAP.jar, open a shell and input: > java -jar JAP.jar
For Windows you can open the DOS box and input:
> javaw -jar JAP.jar
